FAQs

  • Kentokyocon is Lexington’s ONLY anime and gaming convention. Since 2013, we’ve provided an opportunity for passionate fans of anime and gaming to gather and celebrate their interests without traveling far! We offer a wide variety of programming, including fan made panels and cosplay competitions, as well as a packed vendors hall and guest list.

  • This year, Kentokyocon will be held on August 4th through the 6th.

  • Kentokyocon will be held at the Clarion Hotel Conference Center located at 1950 Newtown Pike, Lexington KY, 40511.

  • The Clarion Hotel Conference Center offers free parking, but spaces are limited. We recommend carpooling, drop-off, or utilizing rideshare to get to the con.

  • Pre-registration will be available for three day badges only. Pre-registered badges will be $50 plus taxes and fees.

  • 3-Day Badges are $60

    2-Day Badges are $50

    Single Day Badges are $40

All badges include entry for the entire day, as well as any events scheduled for that day. All prices do NOT include taxes and processing fees.

  • We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as cash.

  • Friday: 12pm - 2am

    Saturday: 9am - 2am

    Sunday: 9am - 5pm

Some late night events may extend later on Friday and Saturday.

  • Not only is cosplay allowed, but it is encouraged! Cosplay is part of what makes conventions so fun. Before you pick your costume lineup, be sure to check our rules and policies for cosplay. It’s for your safety and the safety of all attendees.

  • The Clarion Hotel Conference Center does have a restaurant. You can learn more about their hours and menu at their website. Additionally, there are several other restaurants within a short walking or driving distance.

  • Bags are not allowed into the Electro Dance. Any bags found inside the dance will be confiscated and the owner, if apparent, will be removed.

Exceptions are available for attendees who require a medical device on their person. A small clutch or bag is allowed in this situation, after a brief inspection.

Water is provided inside the dance.

  • Kentokyocon does not provide a bag check. All personal items are the responsibility of the attendee.

First time at a convention?

Here are some tips and tricks for having a good time!

  • It’s polite and good practice to silence your cell phone in panels and in video screening rooms.

  • Since we are a fan-led convention, with programming provided by attendees, there is a possibility that the schedule may change without much notice. We do our best to avoid it, but things do happen.

  • Read through the convention program and check off what you want to visit. Make a plan to visit places like the dealer’s hall, artist’s alley, and main events rooms.

  • If you’ve got children with you, please ensure that the programming you’re planning on attending is age-appropriate. Adult programming takes place in the evening, but it never hurts to be sure. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask any Kentokyocon staff member and we will be happy to assist.

  • When attending a guest signing, please limit the number of items you’re bringing for signatures. It is polite and courteous to be aware of how much time you’re taking with the guest, as it will limit how much time the people in line behind you will have to spend.

  • Take care of yourself! Eat, drink water, and sleep as you normally would. Candy and pocky are delicious, but they don’t replace a nutritious meal. Caffeine can pick you up, but it’s not a great substitute for sleep.

And remember…if you have any questions, concerns, or issues, please contact any Kentokyocon staff member. We’ll do our best to assist you, and find you the assistance you need if we can’t.
